The UK's Care Home Foot Health Specialists
Care Home Podiatry was established to address a challenge that continues to affect care homes across the UK: significant variation in the quality, consistency and oversight of foot health provision.
Foot health has a profound impact on mobility, falls, pain, diabetes management and quality of life, yet standards and provision often vary considerably between homes.
We believe residents deserve more than routine nail care. They deserve access to regulated clinical expertise, preventative care and a service designed to improve outcomes while providing assurance to care providers.
That’s why every resident we see is treated by an HCPC registered podiatrist.
Why We Started Care Home Podiatry
Care Home Podiatry was founded after witnessing significant variation in the quality, consistency and clinical oversight of foot health provision within care homes.
We believed residents deserved access to regulated clinical expertise, and providers deserved greater confidence in the quality of care being delivered.
Today, we remain focused on a simple mission: raising standards in care home foot health through regulated clinical care, education and governance.
Our Principles
Clinical Excellence
Every resident deserves access to an HCPC registered podiatrist.
Consistency
The standard of care should not depend on which home a resident lives in.
Prevention
Good foot health supports mobility, independence and quality of life.
Assurance
Providers should have confidence in the quality and oversight of foot health provision.
Partnership
We work alongside care teams to support residents and improve outcomes.
Not All Foot Care Professionals Are The Same
Podiatrists are regulated healthcare professionals trained to assess, diagnose and manage conditions affecting the foot and lower limb. Their expertise extends far beyond routine nail care and includes diabetes, vascular disease, wound care, mobility and falls risk.
In care homes, where residents often have complex health needs, choosing a regulated podiatrist helps ensure foot health concerns are identified early and managed appropriately.
Why Providers Choose Care Home Podiatry
Raising Standards Through Regulated Clinical Care
1
HCPC Registered Podiatrists
Every resident is seen by a regulated podiatrist, not a foot health practitioner. From routine care to high-risk foot health concerns, our clinicians are trained to assess, identify and manage issues that may otherwise go unnoticed.
2
Clinical Oversight & Assurance
Foot health has a significant impact on mobility, falls risk, pain and quality of life. We help providers improve consistency, visibility and assurance through structured assessments, reporting and the Foot Health Assurance Framework™.
3
Education, Support & Better Outcomes
We work alongside care teams to improve understanding of foot health, support best practice and help residents maintain comfort, mobility and independence.
