Having Diabetes places your feet at higher risk of developing serious problems such as loss of sensation, circulatory problems, foot ulcerations and gangrene. Currently 1 in 4 care home residents have Diabetes, with this proportion expected to rise over the next 20 years. Having access to expert Diabetic Foot care is essential to care homes and their residents.

Our team of Podiatrists are qualified and experienced in assessing, diagnosing and treating Diabetic foot complications. All of our patients with Diabetes receive an Annual Diabetic foot check, 6 week (minimum) check ups and onward referrals to NHS specialist teams where required, in line with guidance from the National Insistitute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

What do we provide?

  • All patients – annual Diabetic Foot Checks, 6 week (minimum) check ups, risk based management plans
  • Patients with active ulcerations – Wound care as required in collaboration with NHS staff, onward referrals to NHS consultant lead teams, ongoing advice to Nursing staff around appropriate wound care.
  • Training – we provide annual training for staff of care homes to help them better manage the foot care of their residents, aiming to reduce the frequency of serious foot problems.
